Sue Collier has lived and worked in New York City for over thirty years and is a 2020 NYFA Fellow. She has taught painting, drawing and printmaking, and while teaching at SUNY-Purchase was twice awarded Outstanding Teacher of the Year. As an undergraduate at Boston University, where she received her MFA, she won a scholarship to The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She has been invited to participate in The Weir Farm Visiting Artist Program, and has also lectured at both Queens College and Dartmouth College.
Collier has exhibited nationally and her work has been reviewed by The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Art News, Art in America, and Art New England, among other publications.
Current exhibitions include: Endless State, Skowhegan Online Exhibition, USPS Art Project at Ely Gallery in New Haven, and is preparing for a one person show in April/May, 2021 at The Painting Center in New York City.
